Degree Description

Combination major and doctoral program

Biology Osteopathic Medicine 4/4 Program – become a doctor

Doctors make the world better, one person at a time. If you know you want to go on to medical school, then this dual degree program may be just right for you. Doctors of Osteopathic medicine do everything a M.D. would do but have an extra emphasis on treating the whole person, including getting to know patients as people and carefully considering the value of preventive care and patient education. The Biology Osteopathic Medicine 4/4 Program allows you to earn your bachelor’s degree in biology from Mount St. Mary’s University in four years or less, and go directly on to earning a doctoral degree (D.O.) from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine for the second four years.

Special programs are extended opportunities outside of the standard major coursework. These programs allow you to decide early on to focus in on a particular career or field you wish to pursue after graduation, you will then work with faculty advisors to prepare for the next steps toward that specialization while you are still earning your undergraduate degree.
