Music Major

If a curriculum in voice or the instrument of your choosing sounds like music to your ears, keep reading. The Bachelor of Arts degree Music concentration allows students to explore their own musicality while also learning music theory and studying music history. In addition to vocal and instrumental instruction, students are encouraged to join musical ensembles and singing groups for course credit.

Outside of Music Classes

Outside of Class

The school-sponsored Wind Ensemble, String Ensemble, and Lab Band introduce students to an expansive musical repertoire, then provide them with opportunities to perform live at school events. Members of the Wind Ensemble can even be seen as the pep band for the Mount St. Mary’s Men’s Basketball team. Alternatively, the Mount Chorale spends much of its performance time away from home. Chorale members have toured nationwide and internationally, even hitting historical venues such as Carnegie Hall.
